I obtained this nearly 20 years ago from a well-known CA collector that is no longer with us. He obtained it during the Reagan years if I recall correctly. Based on one I've seen since I acquired mine, it may be a replica item that was made during that time. As much as I'd like a great story, I don't know the exact origination- other than I've had it for nearly 20 years and the person I acquired it from led me to believe he had it since the Reagan era. I've had it hanging on the wall for years, but as we get older, the time comes to say goodbye to cherished items and let someone else enjoy them.
Regardless of the facts, it's an absolutely stunning, heavy-duty item. It weighs about 3 pounds and 3 ounces! You can see the relief in the center and how it protrudes out to give amazing visual effect. Just shy of 12 inches. This is NOT one of the wooden plaques/ presidential seals of various sizes. This is quite a showpiece as you can see by the size, weight and material.
