Vintage Fratelli Toso Murano Latticino Glass Paperweight Large Sphere EVC For Sale

Here is a beautiful Mid-Century MURANO art glass Latticino (filigree) design paperweight, and it is in excellent vintage condition. In my family for more than 50 years and attributed to Fratelli Toso, dating back at least 60 years (circa 1950s–1960s), this substantial sphere showcases a breathtaking Latticino (filigree) design, alternating vibrant multi-colored vertical glass ribbons with intricate white lace Zanfirico spirals, suspended inside a flawless clear crystal dome. It measures 3 1/8" high and 10" in circumference.This specialized method relies on meticulously pulling colored glass ribbons alongside intricate opaque white mesh spirals (called zanfirico). These specific designs are iconic signatures of the famous Fratelli Toso furnace.In high-quality Italian art glass production, especially by top-tier furnaces like Fratelli Toso, leaving a rough, jagged pontil scar on a paperweight was considered unfinished work. Grinding and polishing the base flat to sit perfectly on a desk is a hallmark of superior craftsmanship and strongly supports their authenticity. A perfect addition to any fine art glass collection.
