Solid handles, no cracks or chips. Needs polishing but items are otherwise in very good condition. Wood box has surface scratches and there is one \"ding\" in the top. Brass shield is NOT engraved, and the key is missing. Condition is Used. Shows age appropriate wear and scratches from previous use. Please review photos for they are part of item description.The blades and tines are silver plated, and the handles appear to be celluloid, or perhaps another vintage plastic. The metal shield on top of the box is waiting for the new owner\'s initials. Originally came with a key which is long gone.
