Description & History
Weidmannsheil is a classic Solingen hunting-knife brand with roots in the Wilhelm Weltersbach cutlery firm, founded in 1882. The “100 Years” anniversary series commemorates that founding date and was produced for export in the 1980s. These knives are known for high-quality Solingen stainless steel, genuine stag handles, solid brass furniture, and the distinctive Wild Boar’s Head motif.
The “West Germany” stamp on the leather sheath confirms production between 1982 and 1989 (before German reunification in 1990). Complete New In Box examples with the original anniversary box and sheath are increasingly scarce and remain popular with collectors of traditional German hunting knives.
